About Our Founder
Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, Said Kouhaila pursued his doctoral degree in international diplomacy at American International University. Kouhaila then worked with the UN International Human Rights Organization in Boston, and later with the Democratic party serving as an international counselor for diplomatic relations. In the mid-1990’s he met former US Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts, who became his inspiration for the American Academy. Since his return to Morocco in 1996, Kouhaila has become a leading figure in American-system education in Morocco. He is the Founder of both American Academy Casablanca (1996) and American College Casablanca (2020), and is the Honorary President of the College. Kouhaila is an ex-officio member of the Board of Governors.
